About this wine
This wine was hand harvested on October 2, 2020. It was then brought into the cellar where the winemaking team sorted each individual cluster by hand. The goal of this process is to use the ripest and cleanest fruit of the 2020 vintage. The fruit was then crushed and left in the tank to cold soak for 48 hours, increasing the aromatic profile and providing a sense of varietal typicity. This wine was left on the lees through its aging period to add a layer of complexity to the texture of the wine. It was held in elevage for 5 months before being bottled in the spring of 2021.
Suggested Food Pairings

Vintage Notes
April and May were cooler than the long term average, leading to delayed budbreak. This vintage is typified by the near drought conditions of May, June and August through October. This lack of rainfall created the perfect conditions for grape growers and winemakers alike. The harvest started earlier than average to preserve the freshness and acidity in the whites. The dry conditions through September and October led to decreased berry size and increased aromatic concentration in the reds, producing red wines with weight, body and a remarkable freshness.
Vineyard & Soil
Grown in a Lansing Gravelly silt loam, this glacially deposited soil is exceptionally well drained to provide small, ripe berries. The vineyard is 1,200 feet from Seneca Lake, creating a warmer microclimate through the summer and allowing the Gewurztraminer to to present with bold fruit flavors and lower acids to promote a big, luscious wine that is a beautiful reflection of Seneca Lake.
